“We have come to cause suffering and pain! To end your civilization with our flames of torment!”
— An Elemental Cobra, after being asked their purpose in Ninjago City

The Pyro Vipers are an ancient tribe of Greek/Japanese Serpentine during the time of the Olympics. They were imprisoned in the Ancient Pyramid in the Desert of Doom in Algeria and were released when the pyramid was destroyed. They were frozen somehow, presumably from the Blizzard Samurai, but resurrected due to the power of lava. They serve as one of the main antagonist groups of Season 11, serving alongside their enemies: the Blizzard Samurai. Their goals are to conquer Ninjago against the Ninja and the Blizzard Samurai and exact revenge against the traitorous boy who imprisoned them long ago.

King Mambo Mambo was the leader who led the Pyro Vipers during the time of the Olympics. He and the First Spinjitzu Master knew each other and agreed peace between Humans and Serpentine, meaning neither of the beings can cross over to their land. One day, Wu and Garmadon wanted to see the Serpentine Valley, and the treaty was broken when Wu trained Aspheera in Spinjitzu and used it for evil. Aspheera overthrew him with Spinjitzu, but she was defeated by Wu and Garmadon, restoring him to power, and sentenced Aspheera to magical entombment. It is unknown what happened to him after this.

Trivia

  • The Greek root "pyro" means "fire."
  • They are the fourth Serpentine group to be a villainous faction, the first being the Serpentine themselves, the second being the Vermillion/Piracy, and the third being the Serpentine Ghosts.
  • The only way to be alive or recovered is with fire, since their name is the Pyro Vipers.
  • The Pyro Vipers and the Vermillion are the only Serpentine tribes that weren't involved in the Serpentine War.
  • In their original form, they appear to vaguely resemble Hypnobrai, but mostly in their eyes and their blue colorization.
